Saturday was ‘Vlog Your ABC’ day, so to say. Five second snippets, in one way or another connecting letters that mattered to each person’s take on it. In teams of 3 we ventured into town, Raymond (The Boy King) hooked me up with Sigrid and Joel.

I thought I knew what I was doing from the get go…but, as it is in so many other instances, you change your mind over time. In my case, during filming. Half way, still not sure, I decided I would just continue what I was doing and figure it out while editing. So I ‘taped’ the sights, bicycles, people, details, panoramic views, etc, trying to capture what I wanted to take home from my impressions of Budapest. Both for the assignment and Amsterdamize.

Today it hit me. Going through that footage, I realized my recent pre-VlogEurope / memory lane post had become an important part of the creative process. It was finally clear, Jan’s video about the surprising lack of sounds (noise) on the streets of Amsterdam would be the frame work for my video.

This also enabled me to play it out a little more. Soundtrack? No need. Rhythm section? No bother. It was already right there.

The only guideline of the assignment I couldn’t live up to was the 5 seconds part…these became ten times shorter, lol. Tell me what you think.
